This is one of the few apps any orthodox jew must have (after the Siddur app of-course). You can also ask SIRI, or type in Google “kosher food Or restaurants near me”, but I tell you now – DON’T trust it. For Google the goy, “kosher salt” is good enough!

Kosher was a priority for Nestlé’s initial confections business in this country. The company established a close relationship with the OU, which was its local kosher certifying agency as well as the largest such agency in the United States. In addition, Nestlé recognized that the OU symbol is the most widely known kosher symbol and is highly regarded for the certification standards it represents. Nestlé acquired other companies through the years, and when they were consolidated into Nestlé USA in 1990, the relationship with the OU was carried over to other businesses as much as possible. Today, providing kosher products is still important to Nestlé USA.
Maintaining a tight process is key when so many different players are involved. Clearly defined policies and procedures ensure the integrity of the kosher program. Richard Hutson, Director of Quality Assurance, oversees all of the kosher labeling information for the Nestlé USA’s Confections & Snacks Division. He says the biggest challenge in obtaining and maintaining kosher status is the availability of kosher raw ingredients.
Kosher dietary laws significantly influence the food-buying needs of more than seven million consumers. Providing kosher products is another way Nestlé meets consumers’ unique needs. Nestlé USA’s kosher program covers a wide spectrum of food and beverage products from thirst quenchers and coffee break delights (including Nestlé® NESQUIK® flavored milks, Nestea® instant and regular tea, Nescafé®, Taster’s Choice® instant coffee, Nescafé® Frothé®, and Nestlé® Coffee-mate® coffee creamer), to tasty treats and baking pleasures (such as Nestlé® Baby Ruth®, Nestlé® Butterfinger®, Nestlé® Crunch®, Nestlé® Toll House® Candy Bar, Nestlé Signatures TreasuresTM, Nestlé® SignaturesTM Turtles®, and Nestlé® Carnation® evaporated milks). Is it better to learn, or not learn Torah (playing chess) on XMS and Nittel Nacht (Yiddish: ניטל נאַכט)?
There are two opinions (שיטות): It is a mitzvah or it is forbidden.
It is a mitzvah de’oraita of learning Torah every day and night. After all, what’s more important — a mitzvah de’oraita, or an Minhag Goyim? Obviously, the latter.

There once was a local hechsher in Hong Kong. But we do not know what happened to it. There does appear to be a functioning kosher restaurant there in the synagogue in Kowloon.

A kosher home is an important element in the foundation of Jewish life. Jewish dietary laws, a kosher kitchen is designed to separate items used for preparation and serving of meat and dairy meals. Ideally, cookware, utensils, bowls, and dishes would be stored in separate drawers and cabinets. In order to receive the best design, look for help and advice from a Kitchen Designer who specializes in kosher kitchens.
If space and money were not an issue, you might look at a symmetrically designed kitchen with two separate but equal halves for storage and preparation. Because space and money usually are a concern, you will want to create the most functional space that provides the elements to follow your personal level of dietary observance. Organization and storage follow personal preference. You may prefer to locate your dairy items (as a group) separately from your meat items or mix and match by work centres, i.e. meat utensils on one side of the cook top and dairy on the other. The mix and match option usually provides a more efficient use of your time–which is also very desirable.
Depending upon your level of observance, you may wish to have two separate sinks, two disposals, two dishwashers, and two ovens. Stainless steel can be koshered (to make kosher) to allow for separate use of dairy and meat items. Therefore, you could use a single stainless steel sink and dishwasher. However, since this option would require the item to be koshered in between crossover usage you might want to consider your time and effort vs. the cost and space requirements of the second item.
The biggest challenge in designing a kosher kitchen is to create a kitchen that doesn’t look like a complete appliance lineup. You can do anything aesthetically that you like. But to uphold Orthodox Jewish traditions you need separate preparation, cooking, and cleanup areas for dairy products, for meats, and for any dairy, which includes all other foods, such as vegetables, fruits, eggs, and fish.

It seems to have been inherited by OU. What that means for products now that only have that hechser? OU is managing the kashrus of its operations which is good. Sometimes OU keeps the original hechsher kind of as a band thing, but sometimes it differentiates slightly different kashrus standards. Basically at worst it depends on the product. An uncomplicated product would be ok for sure.
